7th Annual Garden Tour & Plant Sale

Bloomin' in June

Saturday, June 4, 2011

We are mixing it up this year for the annual Bloomin' in June Garden Tour & Plant Sale.  The Dixon Gallery and Gardens is providing the venue for our plant sale and also hosting our speaker, Dr. Josh Kardos of Plant Introductions, Inc. (PII) in Watkinsville, GA.

Please make note of this year's schedule:

8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.            Hydrangea Plant Sale
Dixon Gallery & Gardens, 4339 Park Ave., Memphis, TN  38117

                                             West Parking Lot

A varied mix of macrophylla, paniculata, and quercifolia hydrangeas are available.  The much sought after 'Ayesha' and the new 'Little Lime' are available in limited quantities.  Shop early for best selections.  All profits from the sale will be donated to the Dixon and are earmarked for a new installation of hydrangeas.  Take this opportunity to stroll this outstanding garden.

9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.          Presentation by Dr. Josh Kardos
Plant Introductions, Inc. (PiI), Watkinsville, GA

"Hydrangea Improvement, Production, & Culture: From Breeding
 to the Garden"
Dixon Gallery & Gardens, Winegardener Auditorium

Seating is limited to 200, so come early for a good seat.

10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.          Tour the private gardens of Judith Campbell & Liz Manugian

See link below for garden information and directions.

Garden Tours will start at 10:30 a.m. to allow our hosts to attend the presentation.  So please don't arrive at the private gardens earlier.

We recommend that you arrive at the Dixon first to get your member's wrist band, purchase tickets for non-members, shop the hydrangea sale, tour the Dixon Gardens with their new hydrangea plantings, attend Dr. Kardos' presentation, then head out to the private gardens.

It looks like it will be a great bloom year again for hydrangeas in Memphis so please come out to socialize, pick up a few hydrangeas and some growing tips and visit two beautiful private gardens.
